Bumthang is often called the cultural and religious Centre of Bhutan. Nalakhar Tshechu is a good opportunity to glimpse the unique Tsechu being held in the remote rural village of Nalakhar village in central Bhutan. People from all over the villages come here to witness the festival dressing in their finest clothes. It is held once every year.

Nalakhar Tshechu

Bumthang is often called the cultural and religious Centre of Bhutan.

Nalakhar Tsechu is a good opportunity to glimpse the unique Tsechu being held in the remote rural village of Bhutan (Nalakhar village).

People from all over the villages come here to witness the festival dressing in their finest clothes. It is held once every year. The festival is being celebrated to bring happiness, better harvest, and prosperity to the villages and the country as a whole.

Early in the morning, we will drive our car through the farm road to the road at Nalakhar village. From the road end, we have to walk about 15 minutes to the festival ground of Nalakhar Temple.

After Tsechu, on our way back, we can hike to Tangbi Village through the pine forest. The hike will take about 2 hours.
