Bumthang to Thimphu

The Tour of the Dragon starts in Bumthang and travels 268 km over 4 mountain passes before finishing in Thimphu town square.

Billed as one of the toughest one-day mountain bike races in the world.

The Tour of the Dragon is not a road bike race, a traditional mountain bike race, or a gravel grinder since it does not fall into any of UCI’s categories.

Because the event is 286 kilometers long, we would classify it as an ultra-marathon mountain bike race over exceptionally difficult routes.
