Pema Gatshel, relating “Blissful Land of the Lotus”, is situated in the southeastern part of Bhutan. The Dzongkhag covers a territory of about 1023 square km with altitudes varying from 1000 to 3,500 meters above sea level and encounters an average annual rain of 1500mm to 3000mm.
