  • Journey to the Start: The adventure begins with a 30-minute shuttle ride to the top of the Tharpaling monastery. This is followed by a steep hike-a-bike section through the upper temple grounds, serving as a warm-up and offering a glimpse into the local culture and architecture.
  • Elevation and Terrain: Starting at over 3700 meters, the trail offers a substantial elevation drop of nearly 1000 meters. While predominantly downhill along the ridgeline, it includes a handful of short, steep climbs that challenge and vary the experience.
  • Trail Features: Riders can enjoy several tight and engaging switchbacks, small rock drops (1 ft. or less), and numerous banked turns, all of which contribute to a dynamic and enjoyable ride. These features are designed to test the rider’s skill while ensuring a fun experience.
  • Ending and Accessibility: The trail concludes directly at the Bumthang highway at Kiki La pass, an accessible point for vehicles. This allows for easy pickup for another shuttle run, or riders can choose to continue their journey by cruising downhill into the central town of Jakar Town for food and lodging.
