Druk Deothjung Resort

The Druk Deothjung hotel is a cozy family run establishment catering to all tourists visiting Trashigang. As you travel east in Bhutan, quality lodging is rare to find, if not available at all, the Deothjung Hotel offers basic comfortable accommodation facilities.

The property represents traditional Bhutanese architecture and dotted with Bhutanese themes; highlight being, in front of the hotel stands a huge prayer wheel where one can witness local going about their morning prayers. The important places of interest are easily accessible from the hotel, including the villages of Merak and Sakten, home to nomadic tribe “Brokpas”. From the property one can be a spectator of beautifully views of the valley and in the courtyard of the stands a bon fire pit that is lit during cold nights.

• Druk Deothjung resort is located 3 km away from the Trashigang town, overlooking the valleys of Drangme Chhu.
• This former government guesthouse has charming architecture and fine views down on the dzong, but in return you’ll have to put up with simple rooms, patchy hot water and tiny bathrooms.
• The two top-floor deluxe rooms are marginally better but it’s still too basic for some groups.
• The ‘resort’ is at Kelling, 1km uphill from the town center.
